The VEEMUX® SM-8X4-HDA is a versatile multi-input audio/video matrix switch that independently switches eight sets of YPbPr component video and analog/digital audio signals to any or all of the four outputs. Each input and output has YPbPr component video, L/R analog audio (balanced/unbalanced), and digital audio on coax (S/PDIF).
  • Supports High Definition and Standard Definition YPbPr component component video, S-Video or composite video.
  • Audio can be unbalanced analog stereo, balanced analog stereo or digital S/PDIF.
    • Supports S/PDIF, DTS Digital Surround™, and Dolby Digital™ 5.1 digital signals.
  • Supports 480i (interlaced), 480p (progressive), 720i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p formats.
  • Features break-away audio-allows audio to be switched independent of video.
  • Equipped with volume control: -80dB to 10dB, in 1dB steps.
  • Control the switch through Ethernet, RS232 or front panel buttons.
  • The SM-8X4-HDA is the ideal solution for many applications, such as digital signage, mission critical command centers, sports facilities and entertainment venues.

  • "The SM-8x4-HDA switch is working out great for us. We have not entered the Hi-Def world yet, but we will have the switching tools when we do. In the mean time, the beauty of this switch is, it works great for regular old analog video and audio signals. I am using extremely sensitive boundary microphones in each of our classrooms. I take the amplified signal from each of these microphones and run them through the analog half of our switch. I take the analog video signals from our DVRs along with the video signals from our Axis PTZ classroom cameras and run them back through the switch in our control room. I can marry up the audio signal from any classroom with the video from any classroom and then record the combined output on DVD. We have been recording live venues such as 4H meetings, Master Gardening classes, and Homeland Security Meetings. The flexibility this switch gives us to capture any combination of video and audio from our classrooms has really paid off for us. That’s why I’m ordering another switch."
