Features & Applications

The USB-C5-LC extends one USB device up to 150 feet (46 meters), and the USB-C5(-CE) extends four USB devices up to 30 meters. The USB extenders consist of two units, the local unit and the remote unit, which are interconnected with CAT5/5e/6 cable.
  • Extend self-powered and/or bus-powered USB peripheral devices (security cameras, printer, scanner, keyboard, etc.).
  • Transparent data extension.
  • Compatible with USB PC, SUN and MAC computers.
  • Compliant with USB 1.1 specifications.
  • Supports Plug-n-Play specification.

  • USB-C5-LC: one male USB Type A connector on attached 10-inch cable.
    USB-C5-LC: one male USB Type A connector on attached 254 mm cable.
  • USB-C5(-CE): one female USB Type B connector.
  • Supports a USB Computer (PC, SUN, MAC).
    • When using certain MAC computers with USB-C5(-CE), the maximum extension is 75 feet.
      When using certain MAC computers with USB-C5(-CE), the maximum extension is 22.9 meter.
  • Multiplatform support: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Server 2000/2003/2008, Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD and MAC OS 9/10.

Interface Cables
  • One-meter male USB Type A to male USB Type B interface cable included with USB-C5(-CE).
  • Existing device cables with male Type A connector required.
Extension Cable
  • Use CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 UTP straight through cable for TIA/EIA-568B wiring terminated with standard RJ45 connectors (not included).
Extension Limits
  • USB-C5-LC: extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 150 feet.
    USB-C5-LC: extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 46 meters.
  • USB-C5(-CE): extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 100 feet.
    USB-C5(-CE): extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 30.5 meters.
    • When using certain MAC computers with USB-CS(-CE), the maximum extension is 75 feet.
      When using certain MAC computers with USB-CS(-CE), the maximum extension is 22.9 meters.
  • Use of CAT6 cable may decrease the maximum length of extension.
